Twisted Sister

Twisted Sister is an American heavy metal band from New York formed in December 1972. First member and also a creator was John Segall later called Jay Jay French. In 1978 there was 4 members: Dee Snider (lead vocal), Eddie "Fingers" Ojeda (rythm guitar), Jay Jay French (guitar) and Mark "The Animal" Mendoza (bass guitar) which are in band till now. They released seven albums, five in '80 and only two in 2004 and 2006. They are best known for their unusual costumes and interesting style of performances. Their two best known songs are We're Not Gonna Take It and I Wanna Rock both from 1984 album Stay Hungry and written by Dee Snider. They announced band demise in 1988 due to Snider leaving and weakening popularity. However they didn't end this band forever almost 20 years later in 2003 they reunited and since that time they released two albums and they are still performing. Due to the latest informations they planned their farewell tour in 2016 dubbed "Forty and Fuck It".

Heart

Heart is the only one band presented by me in which leaders are two sisters Nancy (guitarist) and Ann Wilson (lead vocal). Group was formed in 1974 in Canada and earlier it had two others names: The Army (1967-1969), White Heart (1969–72) and Hocus Pocus (1972–73). It was one of the most famous women-band in '70 an '80, two sisters with great voices and special abilities for instruments (guitar, keyboards and few more). They sold over 35 millions records worldwide and they got four Grammy nominations. Band released 15 albums, the last one in 2012 but their most famous recording CD was Heart which made them more known after few years of silent. What is most admirable this two women are almost 65 years old and they still performed with each other.

What About Love?

Skid Row

Skid Row is an American band formed in 1986 by bassist Rachel Bolan and guitarist Dave "The Snake" Sabo, the pair added guitarist Scotti Hill, drummer Rob Affuso, and lead vocalist Sebastian Bach. They started playing in clubs and few months later with a little help of Jon Bon Jovi they began working at an album. They released Skid Row in January 1989 which was a really big success with magnificient songs like ballad - I Remember You, 18 and Life or Youth Gone Wild. There were also few accidents on their concert like "The Bottle Accident" when Bach was hit by a bottle during the concert but he continued singing despite the injury. The other one was when he put on a T-Shirt with anti-gay slogan which was thrown by fan . Later he would express regret over the incident during an interview. Unfortunately the most charismatic person - Sebastian Bach left group in 1996 and started a less known solo career. His place took Sean McCabe and later two others singer. Since 2015 lead vocal hold Tony Harnell, best known for his Norwegian work with group TNT. Now, they are working at new album called United World Rebellion which will appear in 2016.

Whitesnake

This group you should associate, at least because I mention it (see below). Formed in 1978 in England by David Coverdale. He was earlier leader singer of Deep Purple but group disbanding in 1976. This band had about 5 reunions and finally they still perform and a lot of members changes. From original team remained only leader and main vocal - Coverdale. It's typical hard rock group but at the beginning many people accuse them of too much similarity to Deep Purple due to their blues-like songs. But then they released an album Slide It In in 1983 which was pure hard rock of 80s. They made 12 albums, the last one in 2015. Whitesnake has at least two recognizable songs: Here I Go Again and Is This Love in which we can watch controversial Coverdale's second wife.

Ratt

Today I'm gonna show you my last musical discovery. It's called Ratt - American band formed in 1976 by Stephen Percy after the break up of two earlier groups. Current members are Warren DeMartini – guitar, Bobby Blotzer – drums, Juan Croucier – bass and Carlos Cavazo – guitar. They had two really good albums (Invasion of your Privacy (1984) and Out of the Cellar (1985)) but then they faded mostly because of they leader Percy leaving for few years. But I have to admitt that he's a really iconic singer, mostly because of his memorable voice and his performance style. Unfortunately the future of Ratt is in question. On April, 2014 Stephen Percy left his band due to constant problems and dissidence between members. Despite this crisis situation, we can still enjoy their great songs like Round and Round or Lay it Down and be hopeful there will be more.

Winger

Winger isn't really famous band although they still performs. It was formed in 1987 in New York by Kip Winger who was earlier bassist in Alice Cooper's band. The group featured also guitarist Reb Beach, bassist Paul Taylor, and drummer Rod MorgensteinThey were representative of the heavy metal music, especially glam metal (which means flashy clothing, makeup and long, shaggy hair) and  actually progressive metal. They performed until 1994 unless the music scene changed then they faded. Not for a long, in 2001 they reunited for two years and couple of successful tours but their broke up due to Reb Beach touring with Whitesnake. They came back in 2006 with their new album VI which had really similar music to their originally created. Since that they released more two albums, last one in 2014 called Better Days Comin'. Now Winger still performs in mini-tours and private events in almost the same composition as thirty years ago.
I must add that they have a lot of great songs but the most important are: Miles Away from their second album In The Heart of the Young (1990), Seventeen and power ballad Headed for a Heartbreak from first album Winger (1988)

Def Leppard

Znalezione obrazy dla zapytania def leppard band

Def Leppard is more famous band than the previous one which I discussed. They came from England, Rick Savage (one of current members) formed it in 1977. Nowadays this band include: Joe Elliot (lead vocals), Rick Allen (drums), Vivian Campbell (guitar) and of course Rick Savage (bass). But on this picture you have one past member (second from the left), Steve Clark who died from an overdose in 1991. Their music is a mixture of hard rock, metal, heavy metal and pop but they are usually defined as hard rock group. Except for amazing and recognising leader voice, Def Leppard is known from their one-handed drummer. Rick Allen (first from the left) who lost his arm in a car accident in 1985, learnt to play without it and he's still in band.
Def Leppard has two most recognizable albums: Pyromania (1983) and Hysteria (1987). Their most famous songs came mainly from them: Pour Some Sugar On Me, Hysteria, Photograph or love ballad Love Bites.
