Extreme is an American group formed in 1985 by vocalist Gary Cherone, drummer Paul Geary, guitarist Nuno Bettencourt and bassist Pat Badger. They were in different group but decided to form a new band together. They were signed to A&M Records and recorded their first self-titled album but it didn't bring them wanted popularity. In 1990 they released their second album "Extreme II: Pornograffitti" with great accoustic ballad "More Than Words" which became a huge smash. They finally gained awaited mainstream success and they started to working on their third album. They performed at the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert in 1992, which also gave them a considerable amount of fans. Extreme disbanded after the tour in 1996, on good terms, when Bettencourt decided to leave to begin a solo career. They reunited in 2007 with only change of their drummer. In 2015 they announced that they are working on the new album.
